The whirlwind continues

After the hike, the car started sputtering again, so we turned into a parking lot to troubleshoot. We thought it was the same coil wire from before, so we rednecked a fix with a switch at the dashboard to bypass the wire. No dice. Upon further inspection and hosting several carloads of old car aficionados while the good was up, Dave discovered that the black wire was also faulty. It was a good thing that we had obtained crimpers and a connection kit at ace hardware in Jackson. Once the black wire was fixed, we tried it with the rednecked switch - it worked. We disabled the new switch, and re-installed the original "old yeller" wire. It worked like a charm, and off we went, burning down the miles east.

The two wires (shown here - yellow and black wires coming out of the coil) are now known as "you two f@&$ers," after a reference to Dave and I from long ago in a place far, far away.

Then, we booked it to Casper, WY, with a stop for an artery clogging chicken sandwich, fries, and frosty at the best restaurant in Riverton, WY: Wendy's. Got there well after sundown. There was a night run going on, and a 4 minute fireworks show greeted us at the hotel.

Onward east in the morning.
