Book trip!

Went to the library today and got a ton of new books for Ryan. Pretty good outing.  He enjoyed the lego display while Katy picked out his books, then I got a couple veggie cookbooks and a book called "steal this computer book 4.0," which caught my eye in the programming section.  I was looking for a Python reference but they only had C, C++, Java, and Office guides.

I picked "Work:  an occupational ABC" by Kellen Hatanka for Ryan, mostly because of the unexpected inclusion of naval architect for the letter N.  And they fact that the naval architect seems surprised that the ship as built isn't at all what was intended:

Initially I had an adverse reaction to the title as being a little too "program your kids now to be upstanding workers and members of society."  Then I flipped through.  There are several counterculture jobs in there, or at least what would have been counterculture when we were kids, such as Explorer for E, Mountaineer for M, and Skateboarder for S.

Not to mention Lumberjack for L, which is also good.  And most were outdoor jobs, which I fully support.  The last thing I want for Ryan is to be locked in a cage all day like the rest of us.
