Storm of the Season

They were calling for the "December to Remember" storm on the news. I snapped a photo at 2:00a.m. last night before the real stuff hit. I love the way the snow damps out all the noise. . .

The next time the camera came out, 2 feet of snow had already fallen by 1:30p.m. on Saturday.

Note the lowest branch on the right side of the tree in our front yard, and the top of the conversion van in the picture below . . . .
Panning over a bit, you can see the neighbor's fence half-buried in snow. . .

The other way down the street, which was still undisturbed, I liked the snow formations on top of the front shrubs. . .
Even under our porch, a foot managed to accumulate on the small tables.

This is the one that really socked it home for me. Check out the table. It looks like an inverted angel food cake. . .
Of course the trash cans, AC unit, and shed were covered. You can see the top of the snow on the shed, which is above the windows at this point . . . .
Now for something really cool. Our back steps turned into a sled hill. Check this out . . . .

Now it's time to decorate the tree. Here's a before picutre, we were able to get it in the door about an hour before the storm started. . . .
